Brigid Schulte is an award-winning journalist, keynote speaker and author of Over Work: Transforming the Daily Grind in the Quest for a Better Life and the New York Times bestselling book on time pressure, gender and modern life, Overwhelmed: Work, Love & Play when No One has the Time. She was an award-winning journalist for The Washington Post and part of the team that won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize. She is the director of New America’s Better Life Lab, which produces and supports award-winning research, journalism, and practical tools to change narratives and drive action for fairer public policies, workplace practices, and cultural attitudes around work, family, gender, care, and wellbeing so all people and families have a fair opportunity to live rich, full, wholehearted lives. She hosts the Better Life Lab podcast on Slate. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times, the Atlantic, Harvard Business Review, Financial Times, The Guardian, Time, Slate, U.S. News & World Report, CNN, the BBC, Fast Company, New York magazine, and many others.

Clare Bresnahan English is the Senior Director, Workplace Innovation Now (WIN) Challenge. She recently oversaw the launch of the WIN Challenge’s inaugural $60M grant competition to discover and scale bold future-of-work ideas across three pillars: workplace culture and practices, leveraging AI, and narrative change. Before joining The Aspen Institute, she served as CEO for New Leaders Council. As the former Executive Director of She Should Run, Clare helped spark a national movement that supports thousands of women and girls in owning their leadership path and to run for office. She serves on the Board of the Washington English Center. She graduated magna cum laude with a Masters in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University and earned a B.A. in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government from American University.

W. Brad Johnson, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of leadership, ethics, and law at the U. S. Naval Academy. A clinical psychologist, he was a commissioned officer in the Navy’s Medical Service Corps, serving at Bethesda Naval Hospital and the Medical Clinic at Pearl Harbor, where he was the division head for psychology. For 20 years, he was also a clinical faculty associate at Johns Hopkins University, where he was awarded the annual Faculty Teaching Excellence Award. He is an award-winning mentor with distinguished mentor awards from the National Institutes of Health and the American Psychological Association. He is also a fellow of the American Psychological Association. He has served as chair of the American Psychological Association’s Ethics Committee and as president of the Society for Military Psychology. Recent books include: Fair Share: How Men and Women Can Create a More Equitable Workplace Together (2026, with David Smith); Good Guys: How Men Can Become Better Allies for Women in the Workplace (2020, with David Smith); and others.

David Smith, PhD, is co-author of the book Fair Share: How Men and Women Can Create a More Equitable Workplace Together, a Professor, and Co-Director of the Gender & Work Initiative at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. A former Navy pilot, Dr. Smith led diverse organizations of women and men, culminating in command of a squadron in combat, and flew more than 3,000 hours over 30 years, including combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a sociologist, his research focuses on gender, work, and family issues, including allyship and inclusive leadership, mental load, gender bias in performance evaluations, and dual-career families. He is the co-author of the books Good Guys: How Men Can Be Better Allies for Women in the Workplace and Athena Rising: How and Why Men Should Mentor Women, and numerous journal articles and book chapters focused on gender and the workplace.

Jamie Tabb is a partner at Vinson & Elkins in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and Co-head of the firm’s Government Contracts Practice Group. He has a full-service government contracts practice, in which he represents contractors in bid protests, contract disputes, and other litigation. While focused primarily on federal contracts, Jamie also has experience at the state and local level. For over 19 years he has litigated bid protests at the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Court of Federal Claims (COFC) and filed claims and prosecuted appeals at the Boards of Contract Appeals and COFC.

Dr. Kalahn Taylor-Clark, PhD, MPH, serves as Vice President and Head of Social Impact and Sustainability at MSD, where she leads the company’s efforts to advance sustainable access to health around the world. In this role, she oversees MSD’s sustainability strategy, global impact investing, corporate giving, mission-aligned partnerships, and social innovation initiatives, including the MSD Foundation, MSD for Mothers, the U.S. Patient Assistance Program, the Mectizan Donation Program, and the MSD Impact Venture Fund. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, teaching Healthcare Organizational Leadership and Inclusive Leadership.
